Overview
LiveLocks ("we", "us") makes an iOS app that lets you try on hairstyles in real time using your device camera. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and who we share it with. It covers the LiveLocks app and this website.
What we collect
- Live camera video. While a try-on session is active, your camera feed is streamed to our AI rendering provider to generate the live preview. We do not record or store this video on our servers. If you tap to save a look, that recording is written to your device's Photos library, not uploaded to us.
- Account information. If you sign in, we receive the identifier and, if you allow it, name and email from Sign in with Apple. If you don't sign in, we track free usage against an anonymous device identifier.
- Purchase data. Credit pack purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of what you bought and how many live seconds it granted, not your payment details.
- Usage data. We record how many live seconds you've used and have remaining, and basic diagnostic and crash data, so the app works and billing is accurate.
How we use it
- To render live hairstyle previews during a session.
- To maintain your credit balance and account across devices.
- To process purchases and grant the live seconds you paid for.
- To diagnose bugs and keep the service reliable.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your camera video to train AI models.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run LiveLocks, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:
- fal.ai / Decart — processes live camera frames to render hairstyle previews in real time.
- Convex — hosts our backend and account data.
- Apple — provides Sign in with Apple and processes App Store purchases.
- RevenueCat — manages and reconciles in-app purchases across Apple's systems.
We don't share your data with anyone else, except where required by law.
Biometric and face data
Live try-on works by analyzing the image of your face and hair to render a style preview. This processing happens transiently, in real time, for the duration of your session, and is not retained by us or our processors after the session ends. We don't build a biometric profile of you, and any recording you choose to save stays on your device.
Data retention
Live camera frames are not retained. Account, credit balance, and purchase records are kept for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with tax and accounting obligations, whichever is longer.
Your choices
- You can deny or revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings; the app can't run a live try-on without it.
- You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us below.
- If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your data under GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.
Children
LiveLocks is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we'll remove the account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
